CAFE Publication Award

Award 1: Multi-authored or Edited Book - The Canadian Association of Foundations of Education (CAFE) is seeking submissions of multiple-authored books or edited books for the Publications Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize books that have made a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of the foundations of education. These disciplines generally include history, philosophy, and sociology of education, but also include other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences that contribute to educational theory. This award will be made at the CAFE Annual Meeting 2012 during the CSSE Conference in Waterloo, Ontario.

Award 2: Online Learning Tool - The Canadian Association of Foundations of Education (CAFE) is introducing a new award this year that will be awarded every three years at the same time as multi-authored or edited books.  This award is for an online learning tool.  Generally speaking, a learning tool is developed from research and created following a set of principles.  The learning tool allows a user to work through ideas, concepts, or processes related to foundations education while demonstrating his or her thinking, planning, and/or decision-making.  Learning tools are often composed of several interchangeable learning objects.

We are seeking submissions for this award for the CAFE Publications Award 2.  The purpose of this award is to recognize learning tools that have made a major contribution to knowledge in the disciplines that fall under the rubric of foundations education and/or support knowledge in foundations education in Canada.  These disciplines generally include history, philosophy, and sociology of education, but also include other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences that contribute to educational theory.  This award will be presented at the CAFE Annual Meeting during the CSSE Conference.

The book or online learning tool must be published or produced between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2011.
