CASEA Banquet 2012

Dear colleagues,

You and other interested parties are invited to attend the Annual CASEA Banquet, on May 29, 2012.

The banquet will be held at 6:30pm at Charcoal Steakhouse (http://www.charcoalsteakhouse.ca), 2980 King Street East, Kitchener, ON.

Banquet menu includes a choice of an appetizer, an entrée, dessert, tea and coffee. The menu available here and the cost per person will be $50 (drinks are not included). Please, note that the menu choices may be subject to change prior to banquet. Therefore, you are asked to indicate your choice of either a regular entrée or a vegetarian entrée when you purchase a ticket.

All tickets must be purchased before May 26, 2012 by a secure PayPal Payment option below. Please, note that no other payment options are available.

When ordering, indicate your name, affiliation, and email address. If you wish to purchase more than one ticket, add the desired entrée option to Shopping Cart and update names, affiliations, and email addresses. If you have any food allergies, please indicate them in the Notes section on the Checkout Review page. Print out the payment confirmation page for your records.

CASEA 2012 Call for Submissions

Dear CASEA members/chers/chères members de L’ACEAS,

As Co-Chairs of the 2012 CASEA program, it is our pleasure to invite you to submit proposals to the CASEA Annual Conference at CSSE 2012 May 27 – 30 to be held in conjunction with the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences co-hosted by Wilfred Laurier University and University of Waterloo. This year’s Congress theme is Crossroads: Scholarship for an Uncertain World/À la croisée des chemins : le savoir face à un monde incertain.

We hope the following guidelines will be helpful:

1. Paper proposals are to be submitted online by November 15, 2011. Please read the “Call for Proposals” and the “Proposal Submission Primer” for guidelines and assistance with online submission: http://www.csse-scee.ca/conference/ .
2. Proposal length: 3 double-spaced pages (not including references).
3. Proposals undergo single blind review. For this reason, please do not include your name, affiliation and/or address on your submission.
4. CASEA has a unique presentation called “Conversations.” The online system currently does not accommodate this option; therefore, Conversation proposals are to be submitted to Dr. Bonnie Stelmach via e-mail by November 15, 2011 (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)). Proposals for Conversations are also 3 double-spaced pages and will undergo the same single blind peer review process as paper proposals.  The focus of a conversation should be on an issue pertinent to and timely for educational administration. Please include 2-3 questions in your proposal that you believe will stimulate discussion. Contact Bonnie Stelmach for more information on conversations.

Please note that you must be a member in good standing of CSSE and CASEA in order to submit a proposal and make a presentation at the 2012 conference.

Those who submit proposals may be invited to review proposals—we thank you in advance for your contribution to developing the CASEA program!

The banquet will be held at 6:30pm at Frogmore Estate (http://rvl.ca/frogmore.html), 35 Colter Court, Fredericton, NB. The banquet is hosted by Brewbakers Restaurant (http://www.brewbakers.ca). The menu is below and the cost per person will be $50. The banquet menu includes all starters, desserts, and a choice of one entrée:
