ACDE awards two Lifetime Memberships

June 1, 2025 | ACDE members gathered for a breakfast meeting during the recent Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences to honour two outstanding colleagues.

Dr. Rebecca Luce-Kapler, who is completing her term as Dean of the Faculty of Education at Queen’s University on June 30, 2025, was awarded a Lifetime Membership in ACDE in recognition of her exceptional leadership and sustained service to the organization over the past ten years. In her citation, outgoing ACDE President Dr. Lace Marie Brogden noted that Rebecca’s contributions include encouraging a more inclusive and diverse executive and modeling thoughtful, values-based leadership.

Lace Marie awarded a second Lifetime Membership to Dr. Blye Frank, who served as Dean of the Faculty of Education at UBC for ten years. Blye was a prominent supporter of and advocate for ACDE on the public stage, championing ACDE’s Accords at every opportunity, including in the broader university community, with government, and on the world stage. In his retirement, Blye continues to be a supportive colleague and mentor to incumbent deans.

Please join ACDE in congratulating these two distinguished deans, now Lifetime Members of ACDE.
