September 6, 2025 | ACDE is pleased to announce that Kim West will deliver the keynote address at our upcoming annual meeting, to be held in St. John’s from October 15 to 17, 2025. Kim is President of Royer Thompson, an executive search firm based in Halifax, NS.
Kim has been president of Royer Thompson since 2017 and is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the firm, which focuses on senior leader recruitment and talent advisory. She has worked extensively with post-secondary institutions through her professional and board work over the past 30 years in senior leader recruitments, communications and board work. Kim is well versed on the governance, recruitment and evolving issues related to Canadian universities. Additionally, she served for six years as a member of the Board of Governors of St. Francis Xavier University and as Vice Chair, Chair of the HR and Governance Committee and a member of the Selection Committee for the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University and Selection Committee for the University Chancellor. For three years Kim was a faculty member for Faculty Bargaining Services of the Canadian Association of University of Business Officers (CAUBO).
