AWARDS
LLRC Masters Research Awards
Two awards are offered, one English and one French, for Master’s theses or scholarly projects completed in the two calendar years prior to the date of submission.
LLRC/ACCLL understands literacies broadly and situationally as the ways in which people make meaning and use languages (written and multimodal) for a range of purposes and in a variety of forms as they navigate different linguistic spheres and sociocultural and material
conditions.
Research in this field encompasses how languages and literacies are developed and sustained in cultures, situations, and individuals across the lifespan. Language and literacy research has vital implications for policy making, curriculum development, pedagogy, assessment, and social justice. For example, research in decolonization of language policies or curriculum development for transcultural literacies would be welcomed as much as research in reading instruction or writing assessment. All modes of inquiry and research are invited, as are all modes of reporting.
