CEA Launches the 2016 Indigenous ‘Innovation that Sticks’ School District Case Study Program
What makes your Indigenous learning program successful? What factors contributed to your success? What got your innovation to ‘stick’?
The Canadian Education Association (CEA) will select one K-12 First Nations-focused learning program to showcase that has increased Indigenous student engagement, achievement and retention, and has the potential to be implemented in other classrooms, schools and school districts across the country.
Apply for the $10,000 CEA Indigenous ‘Innovation that Sticks’ Case Study Program
• Could your on-reserve/off-reserve K-12 First Nations-focused learning program benefit from a $10,000 bursary and national recognition for the impact it’s making to the lives of Indigenous learners?
• Does your program enable the bridging of Indigenous students’ ways of knowing and learning – and 21st century skills – by using your community as a significant learning resource?
• Has your program been – or has the potential to be – replicated beyond one classroom and into other on-reserve/off-reserve schools across Canada.
• Would you be willing to share your knowledge and approach with other educators challenged with heightening the engagement and achievement of Indigenous students?
If you answered yes, then this case study program would be a great opportunity for your on-reserve/off-reserve school or district leadership team to profile your innovative practice and play a lead role in spreading knowledge and inspiring educators across the country to enable Indigenous students’ academic success.
The case study research produced through this initiative will help support other educators in getting their own ‘innovations to stick’ and achieve their goals.
