Call for Proposals 2017-2018
The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) is pleased to announce the 2017-18 Call for Proposals for the Ontario Human Capital Research and Innovation Fund (OHCRIF).
The purpose of OHCRIF is to support research and innovation projects that identify better ways to help people prepare for, return to or keep employment and become productive participants in the labour force. OHCRIF is funded through the Canada-Ontario Labour Market Development Agreement and is used to improve knowledge in the areas of postsecondary education, training, labour market, and employment.
This is an open Call for Proposals that will provide funding for academic researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and non-faculty postsecondary researchers affiliated with publicly-assisted postsecondary institutions in Ontario; researchers affiliated with public or non-profit organizations in Ontario; PhD students; and other researchers affiliated with research firms or organizations.
MAESD will accept applications for projects on the following research themes:
- Skills and return on investment
- Postsecondary education (PSE) and training policies
- Labour market programs, policy and service delivery
- Labour market impacts of transformative technology
- Equitable access to postsecondary education and training
OHCRIF will support projects that must be completed before the end of the fiscal year on March 31, 2018. OHCRIF will fund a mix of Synthesis Projects (i.e. literature reviews, inter-jurisdictional reviews, and environmental scans), Inquiry Projects (i.e. case studies, data, discourse or document analysis, and evaluation studies), Doctoral Projects (i.e. small-scale synthesis or inquiry projects), and Impact Projects (i.e. large-scale synthesis or inquiry projects conducted by a team of senior researchers).
