Statistics Canada released the fifth round of data from the 2016 Census of Population. This new information provides insight on Aboriginal peoples in Canada, the country’s rich ethnocultural fabric, and the housing landscape.
To showcase highlights from this release and enhance Canada’s statistical portrait, Statistics Canada developed a variety of data visualization products. These include a video that looks at immigration trends over the last 150 years and a series of infographics. In addition, a bubble chart, an interactive chart and a total income explorer have been created. Together these new tools provide an! other way to communicate statistical information, engage data users, and demonstrate the importance of statistics in the economic and social development of Canada.
The final data release from the 2016 Census of Population—on education, labour, journey to work, language of work, mobility and migration—will be published on November 29, 2017.
