COMPARATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION SOCIETY OF CANADA
CIESC/SCECI is issuing a call for submissions for the Michel Laferrière Research Awards to be presented at the 2018 Annual Conference. The awards recognize meritorious research studies submitted in fulfillment of the requirements for a Master’s or Doctoral degree. Two awards will be made, one for the best Master’s level thesis and one for the best Doctoral thesis.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the award is to give recognition to outstanding research in the field of comparative and international education, and to facilitate communication about that research. It is hoped that such recognition will encourage and stimulate further high quality research by graduate students.
ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate must have completed their Master’s or Doctoral degree in 2017, in the field of comparative and international education.
AWARD WINNERS will receive
- Certificate of Accomplishment presented at the CSSE Conference;
- Cash award/travel subsidy to attend the 2018 conference ($200); and
- One-year free membership in CIESC.
SUBMISSION: An electronic version for each nominated thesis should be submitted by the academic advisor with a recommendation letter to the Awards Committee Chair: Steve Sider, ssider@wlu.ca
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: March 16, 2018
NOTIFICATION: The Award Winners will be notified by e-mail by April 13, 2018.
