Dear WERA colleagues and friends,
We are happy to share the following information with you, with regards to the WERA Mentoring Programme.
WERA would like to announce our WERA Mentoring Programme. With the help of our Council Members, WERA has identified 26 Mentors who are all specialists in their fields. We are in the process of creating a database with their fields which potential mentees can view and then apply for.
WERA strives to increase its support to early career researchers, particularly with respect to strengthening their international network and research capacity as education research scientists. The WERA-Doctoral and Early Career Scholars Network (DEC) provides doctoral and early career scholars with an opportunity to network with and meet each other and build relationships with expert researchers in the field of education.
As a part of this effort, WERA offers an innovative, online-based Mentorship programme, that links senior scholars and postdoctoral educational researchers who share a common research interest. This online-based Mentorship programme allows early-career scholars access to WERA’s extensive network of highly skilled education researchers. These experienced researchers act as mentors, contributing to the early-career scholar’s understanding of research, as well as adding to their interaction with international and global research in the same field.
Mentees will have access to a list of mentors and their speciality fields, allowing them the opportunity to apply for a specific mentor. After applications close, the mentors will select a mentee based on the applications.
Keep an eye on our WERA Mentoring Programme page on our website for more updates. The Programme will be launched during the first half of September 2020.
