NEWS: WERA – International Resilience Revolution Conference – 30-31 March 2022

Dear WERA Collegues and Friends,

On behalf of the WERA Task Force: Global Challenges and Education we share with you an opportunity to an International Resilience Revolution Conference.

We are getting in touch to invite you to take part in our upcoming International Resilience Revolution Conference 2022 on 30-31 March 2022. Not only that, but we are able to offer you a place at this two-day event FOR FREE. There’s no catch, it’s really happening, it’s really free and we’d really love you to come.

The conference will take place over two days, and we have changed our format, and tweaked it to be as Covid-19 proof as we can possibly be (without a collective crystal ball). We now have live streaming running in parallel on the first day of the conference, whilst the second day will be entirely online. You can take part from wherever you are, so long as you have internet access.

Day 1 – Wednesday 30 March 2022 – delegates can attend, either: (a) in person in Blackpool, or (b) online.

Day 2 – Thursday 31 March 2022 – all delegates will attend online.

We have brilliant Keynotes who we have paired up in order to provide thought provoking dialogue and discussion from different perspectives for example:

  • Wellness, Fairness, and Worthiness: Psychosocial Foundations for Personal and Collective Resilience (Prof Isaac Prilleltensky)
  • The value of social learning: youth resilience in Blackpool (Sam Richardson and Prof Etienne Wenger-Trayner)
  • Anti-racism and the Resilience Revolution (Ngozi Lyn Cole)

The rest of the conference will allow you to choose from a range of parallel presentations, symposiums, workshops, debates, and “alternative” format sessions, delivered by a variety of young people, community groups, parents, academics and practitioners. Maybe you’re interested in the latest international resilience research, or projects to change the odds for those in education, care or the justice system; you might want to find out more about family resilience, cross-cultural resilience, activism or co-production; or maybe it’s the resilient moves that young people themselves are making to improve the systems around them, as part of the Resilience Revolution, that really floats your boat. We genuinely can’t wait to publish the finalised timetable, we’re so excited to share it with you.

We are thrilled that we are now able to make conference participation free for EVERYONE. We’re passionate about removing barriers to participation, and conference fees are one barrier that we’re in the lucky position of being able to demolish, thanks to our wonderful funders. Of course, donations will always be welcome, and we are still offering the option to offset your carbon.

Whether you have been “doing” resilience for 40 years, or you’ve just discovered this fascinating field of research and practice, we’d really love you to join us and be part of the Resilience Revolution.
