The Canadian Modern Language Review
Special Issue Call for Papers
The Canadian Modern Language Review is calling for papers for its 2025 special issue focusing on research-creation in language teaching and learning in the post-multilingual era. The aim of this special issue is to showcase research-creation and partnership between scholars and practitioners to innovate and interrogate arts-based language teaching and learning.
This special issue seeks to illuminate how researchers, practitioners, and learners employ arts-based theory and practices in teaching, learning, and researching languaging and multilingual education. Specifically, we are interested in research that SHOWS rather than tells. The CMLR wishes to publish papers and multimodal submissions that illuminate the use of arts-based practices in language teaching, learning and researching linguistic diversity in Canada or relevant to the Canadian context. We are hoping to gather contributions in English and French, as well as multimodal forms including but not limited to visual, performance-based and digital.
Submission deadline for articles: 20 September, 2024
