The city of João Pessoa, capital of Paraíba, will host the main academic event in the field of education in 2025 in Brazil: the 42nd ANPEd National Meeting & WERA Focal Meeting 2025, which will take place from October 26 to 30 at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in João Pessoa, state of Paraíba, in Northeastern Brazil.
With the theme “Neoconservatism in the world and education in the face of socio-political-environmental violence”, the event is organized by the National Association for Graduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd) and the World Education Research Association (WERA).

The scientific program of the event will be unified, but there will be two processes for submitting papers (one for WERA and one for ANPEd), as each association adopts its own modalities and criteria.

Rules for submitting to WERA
- Professors, researchers and postgraduate students whose research is not limited to a single country or is aligned with the theme of the event (the advance of neoconservatism in the world and the role of education in a scenario of social, political and environmental violence) can submit their work.
- There are no restrictions on topics, but priority will be given to submissions based on research related to global trends, issues and challenges.

All submissions will be reviewed by members of the WERA Review Committee. Criteria include the global relevance of the research, clarity of focus, originality, rigor of the investigation and its relevance to educational practice, policy or theory.
