Follow the 2026 Submission Guide.
Types of Presentations
CSSE features multiple session formats that are intended to reflect the diversity of research and scholarship in education. Submitters should select the format that best reflects the goals of their proposal.
When submitting your proposal, you will be asked to indicate whether you would like to present your work in person at the host institution (during the main conference days) or online via Zoom (during the online session day). Unless selected for an online presentation, all authors should be prepared to attend and present in-person. We appreciate that authors’ personal and professional circumstances may shift the format(s) you are able to participate in. We will accommodate as many requests as we are able to support, and look forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s conference.
For further details, please review the full Call for Proposals.
CSSE’s 53rd annual conference dates are tentatively Saturday, May 31 (preconference day) to Thursday, June 5 (postconference day). The conference will be held at George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario, with online presentations occurring on Tuesday, June 10 for those unable to attend in person. CSSE will be part of Congress 2025, hosted by the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, which brings together more than 65 scholarly associations from across the humanities and social sciences.
Author notifications
The Call for Proposals closed on October 9. The peer review process has begun. Authors will receive an email notifying them of the status of their proposal in early February. If no one on your author team has received a notification email by February 15, please (1) check your spam/junk folders to ensure the email was not filed incorrectly, (2) reach out to your Program Chair copying Nabila Kazmi, CSSE Conference Manager, conference-congres@csse-scee.ca, for assistance.
Program
A draft of the program is now available at: https://events.decorporate.ca/CSSE2025/abstract/event-schedule.php
Please note that we cannot accommodate change requests based on presenters’ individual schedules.
Commitment to bilingualism
As a bilingual association, CSSE is committed to showcasing the work of scholars in English, French, or the language(s) of our authors’ work and research. Multilingual research and presentations reflect the diversity of our community and our scholarship, and we hope that you take the opportunity to engage with colleagues in these spaces.
As you read this year’s program, please take special note of sessions tagged as Bilingual / Bilingue, which indicate that at least one paper in the session includes bilingual content. Bilingual content may include presentations, slides, or discussion questions in multiple languages, based on presenter comfort level and needs of each session.
